Evidence Reviews and Research Methodology

The SEO Meta Study

Krešimir Ćorluka2026Ovisy

9,249 documents collected and 1,391 screened as primary sources that measured something, reduced to 182 tactics. The findings are useful; the methodology is the reason this sits at the top of the list. 602 of 769 scored tactics had no controlled test behind them at all, 81.9% of published outcomes were positive against 3.8% negative, and 92 of the 182 published tactics rest on a source that changed something else at the same time. Self-published, not peer reviewed, and free to download with no email required. Read 25 October 2026.

Relevance to tool selection:
  • Case-study base rates
  • Publication bias in SEO
  • Why bundled tests prove little
  • Where controlled evidence comes from
